Help & FAQs

How do I order?

When you’ve found the product you want to purchase, click ‘add to basket’. This saves your order in a virtual shopping basket. You can either continue shopping or head to the checkout where you’ll be prompted to add your address, phone number, preferred payment method and delivery specifications. Once your order’s been placed, we’ll send you an email confirming your order. Please note we have a minimum order value of £35.

When can I expect my order?

Deliveries placed after 8am will usually be delivered the next working day unless specified. Please note that we do not deliver on Sundays.

What if I'm out when my order arrives?

You are welcome to specify a safe place or neighbour if need be – please do bear in mind, though, that it’s best if your order is refrigerated within 20 minutes of delivery. Just drop us an e-mail with your requirements. If you are going to be out for longer please leave a cool box and we will pop it in there for you.

How much does delivery cost, when and where do you deliver to?

We deliver within a 10km radius of the shop and do all we can to keep our deliveries as reasonably priced as our produce:

We deliver to our neighbouring postcodes SK7, SK8, and SK3 postcodes for just £1.99.

We will also deliver to the following postcodes listed below for £4.99:

SK1, SK2, SK4, SK5, SK6

SK9, SK10, SK11, SK12

WA15, WA14, M90, M19, M21, M22, M23, M33

We deliver throughout the week, Monday to Saturday, and our customers are welcome to specify a delivery day that best suits them; otherwise, we will usually deliver the very next working day. Deliveries are usually made in the morning.

If an order is received before 8am, we can even deliver the same day – perfect for last-minute guests (or an unexpectedly good barbecue day).

We have a minimum order value of £35.

Where does your meat come from?

Our expert buyers source only prize-winning livestock from independent market shows to provide Pimlott’s famous meat. We’ve always maintained long-standing relationships with local farmers. Our beef comes from prizewinning grass-fed heifers, and is hung on the bone for a minimum of 21 days. Our lamb is Welsh-sourced from either St. Asaph or Ruthin, depending on the time of year. The rest of the produce is from the best farms in the 4 counties of Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Shropshire. This means that food miles are kept to a minimum in terms of the journey from farm gate to our shop. All of our meat is Red Tractor approved, guaranteeing safety, hygiene and animal welfare.

What if I can’t find what I’m looking for or need a different size / weight?

Our master butchers can prepare your order any way you like. Just give us a call and we will be happy to help.

What's the best cut of meat for this specific dish?

Here’s where our many years of expertise really show. Whether it’s the perfect steak, cooked just right, or the best cut for any specific recipe. We can help.

How do I cook this cut of meat?

As with advising the very best cuts of meat for cooking styles and recipes, we know how best to cook any meat or cut of meat to really get the best results. Ask in store or drop us a line.

Is this meat locally sourced or organic?

We source our meat as locally as possible. Crucially, we know the provenance of our meat – that is, which farm it’s from and how it was reared and in many cases, it is organic.

What's the difference between the various cuts of meat?

Different cuts of meat vary in price, fat content, and how they’ll cook best. Once again, we’ll offer you our expert advice to ensure you get the best cut of meat for your recipe.

Do you have any special offers or deals today?

We specialise in offering the best meat and always the best value for money. If we have any special offers, they’ll be clearly marked or promoted locally.

Can you recommend something for a special meal or a barbecue?

Absolutely! Like you, we have family, we enjoy special occasions, and we LOVE a barbecue. You tell us what you like and don’t like, if you fancy trying anything new, and we’ll help you make the right choices.

Can you supply lean or lower fat meat options?

Different cuts of lamb and beef can vary tremendously in terms of fat content – and this will inform how best they’re cooked. We’ll be happy to guide you. Lean pork is often lower in fat than red meat, and chicken – grilled, and eaten without the skin – is a healthy option. Meat is an excellent source of protein and many other nutrients.

Do you offer ready-prepared or marinated meats?

Oh, yes, indeed. We have a wide and tempting range of flavoursome marinated meats – Mediterranean lamb, jerk chicken, and chilli beef to name but a few – as well as lots of ready-prepared products such as kebabs and easy meals.

Can you advise on portion sizes?

We can certainly advise according to serving suggestions or healthy guidelines. Our easy meal range is tailored to a number of portions. As for our favourites though, our advice would always be ‘lots’!
